A Brief History of Video Game Music and Sound

This 90 minute class is about the evolution of video game music and how we have gone from bleeps, bloops, and buzzes to fully realized soundtracks. We'll also discuss some of the ways music is used as a tool to directly influence the player and how it adds to a full gaming experience.

About Guest Lecturer, Brandon Harris:

Brandon Harris is a freelance bassist and private teacher in the Baltimore-Washington area. He has performed with numerous orchestras in the area including the McLean Orchestra, the American Festival Pops Orchestra, and the Pan-American Symphony Orchestra. His past teachers include Glenn Dewey of "The President's Own" Marine Band, Ira Gold of the National Symphony Orchestra, and Paul Johnson of the Baltimore Opera. In his spare time, he enjoys playing video games and studying video game music.
